I've always love Jimmy Buffet songs. This morning Magic played Margaritaville. It's a classic. Pain medication is slowly kicking in this morning. After talking with my Dr yesterday we've gone with regular pain meds to try and get this McWristy situation under control and back to a more managable 6. Lower would be nice but … Continue reading Margaritaville

The cake
As I sit at my desk and type this, a block of white fondant is sitting on the kitchen bench. I had thoughts about making some cake toppers for the [Foxtrot Mike Lima] launch cake. I got out the container of gel colours and my very cool edible ink/colour pens, and some modelling tools. I … Continue reading The cake
The thing with the stuff.
So, here's the thing I've been grappling with for-fucking-ever ... getting enough sales to do more than break even (although hey, that would be great). It's the never-ending story. The never-ending author story. Someone suggested creating exclusive content for readers. Brilliant. Okay, I thought. I can do that. And do that, I did. I created … Continue reading The thing with the stuff.
The long and the short
As far as book blurbs go, I've tried almost everything. There have been long ones, short ones, the original one from my publisher (a few of them really pissed me off because they gave away too much). I've had blurbs with quotes from other authors. There've been blurbs with a logline or a hook line … Continue reading The long and the short
It’s time for another …
... rant about thievery. You all know where I stand on creatives getting fair pay and not being ripped off by pirate arse-hats. Annoyingly, I think this problem will never be resolved. It's frustrating. It's downright horrible. People need to stop stealing. I wouldn't walk into someone's house and take things that weren't mine but … Continue reading It’s time for another …
Oh, you’re a prince …
Why didn't you say? That makes all the difference. Said no one with a brain, ever. The scammers are running rampant in the publishing arena. Yeah, still! You'd think they'd give up, right? I guess there are enough people falling for their nonsense that it's lucrative for them. Currently, it's cold calls from "digital marketers". … Continue reading Oh, you’re a prince …
Saturday, May 18th
Yes, the date is the title for a reason. It's the date of the 'Badness by the Bushlands' Ngaio Marsh event at Upper Hutt central library. I haven't done a Ngaio event for a few years. Many reasons - mostly because I was away when they were scheduled or they were too hard for me … Continue reading Saturday, May 18th
Legendary
Quite liking the latest single from Bon Jovi. 🙂 Yes, I will add a Spotify link at the end of this post. How are ya? You good?I've spent most of the day checking and adding links to my universal links. It's time consuming. The joy is though ... my paperbacks are available from far more … Continue reading Legendary
Maybe Tomorrow
Thank you, Goldenhorse, for the blog title. No big surprise when I say I'm writing at the moment (I don't mean right this second, silly but I am so ...)Anywho, [IRL] is coming along nicely with a few big surprises thrown in to keep me on my toes. Such fun. Also, Scattered on Cloth is … Continue reading Maybe Tomorrow
First We Take Manhattan
Big thanks to Leonard Cohen for today's blog title. Yes, I will link you to the song at the end of this post. Leonard Cohen has a special place in my heart. Anywho, that's not the purpose of this post. This morning I created the Event page on Facebook for [Foxtrot Mike Lima]. That means … Continue reading First We Take Manhattan
