That title felt slight ominous as I wrote it. And I could hear Sid Vicious in my head so even more ominous. Oh well. That’s how it is some days.
This weekend and today have been marvellous for writing. I got back on track on Saturday and charged ahead yesterday and today. From 70K on Saturday morning to 79K this evening. And boy, it’s annoying. Yeah, annoying. Because I didn’t just get on with it last week. And it’s annoying me that it annoys me! I can’t do anything about it so why oh why am I letting it annoy me?
Let’s chalk it up to Christmas lunacy.
Anywho, barring anything catastrophic, [Echo Mike Papa] will be a fully fledged first-draft by the end of the week.
Not tomorrow though.
Tomorrow we have a Christmas celebration to attend. Weather permitting, we shall have a lovely time. The forecast is for stormy weather so we shall see! Fingers crossed the storm moves faster across the country and gets out of our way by lunchtime here. (Christmas miracle?)
Tomorrow is also the last day we will Caleb home. He’s jetting back to London on Wednesday. It’s been really great having him here. So good that he could spend some time with Superman. Must take more photos tomorrow.
Johnny Cakes is running the household. It didn’t take her long. She has two attentive minders/play mates. Mostly they keep her out of trouble. She’s good fun and very cuddly.
Patrick has discovered that he can use Johnny Cake to do his bidding. If I won’t wake up early enough for him … he gets Johnny Cake to work her magic. It’s very hard to resist an apparently starving kitten. Turns out she’s quite the actor. I guess Patrick is rubbing off on her.
The worst thing about the end of this story being near is just wanting to write. Even though there are other things I need to do. I just want to keep writing until it’s done.
