There’s another weekend coming …
As long as that keeps happening, all is not lost. 🙂 I might get some writing in, I definitely will not be making lofty writing plans. Why would I? Really? I know this book is moving steadily. I know I'm on track for a June/July launch next year. As long as I keep going, it'll … Continue reading There’s another weekend coming …
You ain’t seen nothing yet.
I had a plan this weekend. It was an ambitious plan but I think it had potential. What my plan didn't take into account was just how cunning my mind is when it's not on board with the plan! Instead of dragging [Indigo Romeo Lima] over the imaginary finish line like I had planned, I … Continue reading You ain’t seen nothing yet.
What day is it?
Sometimes you need to know the day of the week or time of day. When you're writing a novel continuity is everything. You can't have a character cracking on about the moonless night while also dribbling about the brightness of the sun. You can, but, not all at once. Take a break, let your characters … Continue reading What day is it?
All mouth, No trousers.
I'm writing. [Indigo Romeo Lima] is moving along. I'm enjoying it, mostly. Why mostly? Because first-drafts are HARD. I'm not building on anything, I'm creating the foundations and the framing and cladding some of the walls. Some walls will be left in building paper while I write the rest and hope it all comes together! … Continue reading All mouth, No trousers.
Of course!
Seriously, don't know why it didn't immediately occur to me that someone was asking about Databyte when they asked about 'my book'. 🙂 Maybe because it was foremost in my mind in 2014 when it launched? Currently I'm writing the sixth book in a entirely different series set in the same universe (and it annoys … Continue reading Of course!
Digital marketers/vacuum cleaner sales people.
I didn't expect to get such a hilariously AI response from my questions to this mornings marketer. They're too good to keep to myself. FYI this is a cut and paste from my Page. My questions and any comments I make will appear in red.So, for your entertainment here we go: Read the first two … Continue reading Digital marketers/vacuum cleaner sales people.
Old Time Rock & Roll
This is one of those 'if you know you know' blog titles. Could've been 'Against the Wind' but not today. Anywho, a lot of words happening at the moment. [IRL] is moving quite quickly but still too slow for my liking. It's that annoying thing ... I can see it and want to write it … Continue reading Old Time Rock & Roll
[Foxtrot Mike Lima]
This morning I took a copy of [Foxtrot Mike Lima] out of the box on my desk and started reading it. Why?Because I haven't read it yet as a whole finished glorious thing. I've read it between edits. I've read it scene by scene and line by line. I've read it with changing things and … Continue reading [Foxtrot Mike Lima]
To write or to have written.
I can tell you right now that my favourite state of being is having a finished first draft sitting there looking like a lump of shite, ready to be formed into a fully fledged story. The joy of knowing the hard part is done and the fun is still to come. I love that. I … Continue reading To write or to have written.
