It’s NEXT WEEK!

I’m not just excited about the official launch at the library next Friday. I am excited to see everyone who comes along. My forever best friend is coming up from CHCH. (We just had a week together, or near enough.) Other bestie is coming over from Foxton and yet another wonderful friend from school is home from the UK for an extended visit so she will be there too! These three women are a force to be reckoned with. (And yes, I do still have friends from my school days, don’t you?)

This week feels slow. I don’t know why.

Jimmy the Thug went missing 6 days ago and turned up this afternoon. He’s very pleased to be petted and fed. I am very pleased he’s alive! Little shit had me quite worried.

The last books arrived today for the launch next week. They’re not Ronnie books. I needed a few Written in Leaves for the night as well as the Ronnie books. One copy is destined for Greece. 🙂

I think I’m all set now, apart from the speech and the cake. Cake making day will be Wednesday next week. Hopefully the girls can help me make it. Should be fine. If it’s a disaster I can make another one of Thursday after physio. Just as long as I can get it cooled and iced before Friday and then make the mirror icing on Friday afternoon … if indeed I still do that. Anything could happen. I’ve got a hunk of fondant that I was supposed to make a cell phone and pendulum out of, we’ll see.

Did I mention I’m teaching crime writing from Saturday?
Well, I am. I’ll be back up at Wellington High School for the next 6 Saturdays teaching my course. Such fun. I do love teaching crime writing. I’ve only got 7 copies of “Don’t Kill The Chicken” on hand. I’ll order a couple more, just in case. I can’t find my marked up copy of Snakebyte. I wondered if I’d given it to Doris to use with her copy of “Don’t Kill The Chicken”, I might have to go into her room and look for it. The fear is real. Wish me luck.

  1. I’m very glad that Jimmy’s back and safe! It’s also great to hear you’ve got some good friends coming to your launch. It’s always best when the people care about show up to support you. I’ll bet it’ll be a great time for everyone. It sounds as though you’ve got stuff ready.
