Get it together.

Sometimes I need a reminder to get it together and get on with whatever I’m doing. Sometimes the freaking season needs a reminder to get it together. It’s pretty annoying when you get a southerly storm come through in December. It’s supposed to be summer. This doesn’t bode well for the long hot summer we were told to expect.
At best it’s mediocre.
It is what it is. Not like we can do anything about it.

The other day a title popped into my head. Now, that’s not what should be happening. Not at all. I was finishing off the Veronica Tracey Christmas story and minding my own business then wham a scene encroached and I knew damn well it wasn’t for the Christmas story. A few minutes later a title popped up. And it’s a good one.
What this is telling me is … that I’m working on the second story from the ‘Fates Entwined: Spellbound Bookshop Trilogy’. Of course my brain would throw up scenes for something unrelated. If you recall it took me a couple of years to settle down and finish the first of those stories.
It’s very annoying and it goes like this:

Brian Brain: Oh, you want to finish that little romance novella with Poppy, Violet and Lily?
Me: Yep. Gotta get it done.
BB: What? now?
Me: Yep.
BB: Wouldn’t it be more fun to work out who the chick is that Enzo and Ronnie have detained?
Me: You utter wanker!
BB: Come on, it’s me. Wouldn’t it be fun?
Me: Just stop. We need to finish Poppy’s story.
BB: Can we kill someone?
Me: No.
BB: How’s this for a title [India Romeo Lima]
Me: You prick.
BB: Let me show you this partial scene … you’ll love it.
Me: Dammit that is a really good title. Why are Enzo and Ronnie working together?
BB: *Grins* Grab that notebook, let’s go.

Welcome to my life.

  1. I’m laughing as I’m reading this, because it’s happened to me, too! I’m working on Joel Williams #5, and being a good girl about it (13 chapters in!). And now WHAM! I just got a great idea for Patricia Stanley story. No! Not Yet! I’m trying to stay focused, but… oooh, shiny…
