How are ya? You good?
I’ve spent most of the day checking and adding links to my universal links. It’s time consuming. The joy is though … my paperbacks are available from far more stores than they were before. Hooray.
To be honest I was a bit astounded at some of the prices because I know how much I make and it’s a fraction (a small fraction) of what the bookshops are charging.
Such is life as an author.
You all knew it wasn’t a fancy life spent drinking champagne and eating fish eggs (or caviar if you like). 🙂
If you weren’t aware well here’s a snapshot of the day in a life of a crime thriller author:
clean the cat litter boxes
do the dishes
feed the beasts
make some new stories
make some new still images
pick up dog poop
do the washing
yadda yadda yadda

I did take a few minutes to check the latest ad I have running on FB. It’s a video. And amazingly has had 9090 thru plays. Colour me stunned. (It is a pretty awesome video though.)
Weirdly, it had all those plays but only 1 like. Fascinating.
It’s too early to tell if it has influenced sales. But I’m keeping an eye on that. (Because that would be very nice indeed! Fingers crossed!)

Today I turned over the TikTok stuff to Admin Bex (who is all the awesome all the time), so, yes, we are on TikTok. (I hope that link worked. If you have TikTok give us a follow!)

The other fun thing for today … Upper Hutt Library is hosting their first Ngaio Marsh Award event – Mystery in the Library on May 18th. So if you’re around Upper Hutt that day come on over and enjoy the fun. (Times to follow.)
