After ignoring/deleting 44 people who wanted to be in my LinkedIn network and realising by tomorrow there will be another 44 to delete is starting to feel like it will never end … it’s a constant bombardment of scamming pricks.
I am so tired of LinkedIn.
Anywho, that’s not the only reason I’m here today. I’ve been fiddling around with descriptions of summer in New Zealand. We’re not exactly known for our long hot summers like we used to have them though. My teenage/early adult years summers were long and dry, grass burnt off, no one had to mow lawns in the summer. And there was zero humidity here in the valley. Vegetation on the hills burned.
That’s not how it is now. But our sun is still fierce.
Not entirely sure that I put in enough sense of season/place in [IRL] but it’s now with my editor so no fiddling with it until it comes back.
That’s quite hard for me to do … I have to put the whole story out of my mind and concentrate on ‘Scattered’. That was moving along quite well and then I lost interest. If I lost interest then everyone else will too so I need to work out what went wrong and fix it.
It’s on my list. Getting right to that. Any minute now.
Not much else is happening here at the moment. Day Light Saving started so we’re back to five hours time difference between here and Perth. I don’t like that so much. But I do like a countdown and I have one. 18 weeks and two days. 🙂 🙂 I know it seems like ages away but time goes fast.
Someone has a story to write so I better get on with it.

Countdowns are great, aren’t they? They really make the time go by more quickly, I think. And I know exactly what you mean about losing interest in a story. It’s really hard to get readers to care about a story if you’re not on fire to tell it. I’ll bet your editor is going to love [IRL]. And having that little time gap means you can get to the revisions with a fresh perspective.
