2024 is almost done.

I don’t think it was an all round bad year. It was an interesting year – just not always in the best way.
Pain Management Clinic was wonderful. After it ended a few really hard things happened so I think going back to Pain Management might be good idea.
We had a couple of big losses and we will carry those people in our hearts forever.
I wrote a lot of words.
A whole lot of words. (I can write words, guys!)
Scattered on Cloth: Completed.
Drawn from Cards: Completed.
[Indigo Romeo Lima]: Completed and first edit round done.
McWristy proved to be an arsehole for another year. So, that wasn’t as much fun as it could’ve been.
Started [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] – approximately 14K into it.
I played with using loose outlines – it was’t awful. I’m not convinced it’s for me, but it wasn’t awful. I will try harder with that and try it with [FFS]. So far I’ve only done it with ‘Drawn from Cards’ (novella length work).
Dictating a novel … I tried. I can dictate from words I’ve already written but not new words – it’s just wrong. Not for me. Nope.
Freda left home this year. That was a huge step. HUGE. And she’s thriving. Guess all the care and hard work over the years paid off. Taking the win.
Bestie/Sister took me to Rarotonga this year. We had a freaking amazing time. We laughed, we drank, we ate, we laughed some more. 🙂
Sue came back to NZ a few times so we’ve managed to catch up more than usual. 🙂
Pip is back here indefinitely from the UK.
The Boy Wonder came home for a holiday with his gorgeous almost-wife with their newborn son and the hilarious 3 yr old who had her birthday here. It was magic.
The Prodigal Son announced he is coming home for a holiday next April with his wife and the child. Hopefully (cross your fingers) we can get everyone together for the first time in 13 years!!
I’m ready for that chaos, bring it on.

Superman came up a few times this year and I got to spend time with him in Wellington city – we even went up the cable car, haven’t done that in years.
I reinstated ‘Author Interrogations’ on my website. And I’ll be running another batch in 2025. Keep an eye out – new questions, any writer can put their hand up and have a go (or another go).

  1. You had a really productive year, for which I think you should take due pride. I’m excited that you could get the whole group together this fall, and I hope that happens. In the meantime…. wishing you and your family the best 2025 has to offer. May McWristy get permanently stuffed and stay away.
