And then …

The last two days were spent revising my teaching textbook and the workbook that goes with the crime writing course I teach.
A minimum of 16 hours went into doing that.
Everything is shiny and new.
New formatting, new covers, new titles, new ISBNs, revamped content, and some new content.
I have ordered myself a copy of each. They’re coming from the US because I wanted my Character/Plot Rainbow in colour. So it is. I should have them in my hot little hands in a couple of weeks.
I will still need my original textbook for some of the things I forgot to transfer and re-write. *shakes head*
To be fair, I did rather well with limited brain power. (The workbook is also in colour and has plenty to occupy a crime writer.)
I couldn’t find the short story that I had in the beginning of the original workbook. It’s somewhere I just gave up looking after about two minutes. Yes, that’s where I’m at. If I can’t find it fast enough it is no longer needed.
I could’ve used my handy dandy ‘Cluedo’ explanation of POV – but I haven’t. It would’ve been awesome in colour but I have a new way of teaching POV. Students will still get a PDF version of the ‘Cluedo’ POV lesson. (Maybe. Who the hell knows I’m going to do?)

It’s far easier concentrating on teaching and lessons than life at the moment.
In saying that, early yesterday evening a scene popped up. I knew one would emerge at the news that the FBI have their own offices here in Wellington and aren’t working from the embassy.
If you’ve read any of the recent [Veronica Tracey Spy/PI] novels you’ll know that them having their own offices is going to impact someone in the series. Probably more than one person.
There’s a good chance that news will create some fun scenes. It certainly did yesterday. 🙂

Stay frosty out there.

  1. Oh, I can imagine all sorts of great scenes in the Ronnie Tracey series… I’m glad the process of updating your textbook, etc., is going smoothly, even if you have to wait a bit for the book. The final product will be worth it. And trust me, I lose stuff like that story, too.. You’re wise not to invest too much time looking for it.
