Magic hi jinx this morning. It disappears then returns. Guess that’s why they called the station, Magic?
And now my HomePods have turned the volume up themselves. So, weird.
Anywho, [EMP] is moving along and I’m very much enjoying this first draft (so far). I like stories that have multiple facets – they entertain me as I’m writing. That’s a really good way to keep me writing. (Almost like my brain knows a thing or two about me!)
I have scenes all over the place: In notebooks, in separate files, in the actual file. It’s growing like topsy but it isn’t linear. I remember when I used to write beginning to end. That was it. Nothing outside the video I see in my head appeared on the page.
This series is not like that. Veronica Tracey is different she likes to show me things all over the map. Maybe it’s a test to see if I’ll get it all in the right order. A jigsaw puzzle if you will. She does like ‘Puzzle Time’. IYKYK.
Perhaps it’s because there are often more than one POV?
Perhaps my brain works differently now?
Who knows? Clearly, not me.
I do know that I have to trust the process and just let the story evolve its own way. Yep, still a pantser – mostly.
Mostly? I have sketchy bits and pieces that almost resemble a rough outline of a few chapters. They contain key words or key pieces of information.
Scrawled comments across notebook pages. 🙂
In other news: There’s a lot of stuff going on and it’s rather stressful. But that’s just life.
