It’s Christmas Eve morning. The desserts are chilling in the fridge – waiting for tomorrow. Gregory the turkey is defrosting in the fridge veggie drawer. At some stage today he will be on the bench because I keep my fridge colder than most people. Or, I’ll adjust the temp. But the joy of Christmas in summertime means the fridge needs to be proper cold and not playing at being cold.
[Echo Mike Papa] is sitting quietly. That means it really is a finished first-draft. No pull to add anything to the end, at all. It’ll wait for me until I’m ready to read and make notes. The joy in finishing it is still there. Same with the joy of finishing [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] earlier this year. Although I honestly can’t remember what [FFS] is about. It’s been a while since I looked at that story. No doubt I will reacquaint myself with it when the edits come back.
Today, we want to visit Superman but that will depend on my knee. We’re going to run an errand first and see how it is. The thing that will probably cause issues is the hill. I don’t know if I can walk down the steps and back up. It’s not too bad at the moment but then I’ve only been down our stairs. I’m standing (as usual) while I’m typing and so far so good! I strapped it yesterday and that made a big difference. Fingers crossed.
Have a safe Christmas/holiday season.
Avoid the crowds (COVID is still a thing).
Steer clear of weird Uncle Bob.
Don’t talk politics.
Buy books.
Just because you’re related to someone doesn’t mean you have to like them.
Breathe.
