I’m reading a book.
I know, shocker!
It’s got a main character who has migraine disorder. It’s not one of my FBI-Byte Series books. What? 🙂
Where I left off last night the main character had an icepick migraine. (They are evil fuckers but they only last seconds.) So far, I’ve had every type of migraine the author has described and to be honest I don’t want to read anymore because it’s my life and I don’t want it in fiction.
Yeah, I know, Ellie Conway had/has migraine disorder and I used that in the FBI-Byte Series, quite happily in fact. But I didn’t put it on every page and every paragraph. Most of the time Ellie carried on as normal – but we all know her brain was interesting and liable to throw up obstacles whenever, but also it offered insight into situations. Could she read people as well as Joe Navarro or was there something else going on? We will never know.
The book I’m reading is well written but I’m over it already and I’m only about three chapters in.
The older I get the less I’m likely to finish a book I’m not enjoying regardless of how well it’s written.
Meanwhile, this week is all about family and a book launch.
It’s going to require a LOT of prep for both reasons.
I do have half my big desk covered book launch stuff – let’s hope that after Friday I reclaimed my desk and all the books are sold and prizes given out!
Baking is going to be cutting into my time this week. I think today I can do the things that will be fine sitting in the fridge until Friday (book launch day) or Sunday (family late lunch day). Things that will be fine are lolly cake and fudge cake.
Meanwhile, I need to get moving.
If you haven’t pre-ordered [Indigo Romeo Lima] because you buy from Amazon, you’ll have to wait until the 11th and grab it when it launches.
Another thing about Amazon though – the Fates Entwined: Spellbound Bookshop trilogy is available in audio from Amazon or Audible.

I’m the same as you. I’m less and less likely to finish I book I dislike. The only exception I make is if someone has asked me to beta it or do some sort of review. Then I carry on. I know what you men, too, about books that hit too close to home. I’ve had some of those, too.. Hope you have a fabulous launch!!!
