It’s one of those weird days. Kind of disjointed. Not sure why but every now and then days like that appear. This morning I was writing chapter summaries to try and see something I thought I would find in [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra], I sort of found what I was looking for … turns out my brain is quite clever, if I let it be.
The lounge smoke alarm has gone off twice this afternoon – for no reason. All the smoke alarms were checked a couple of months ago and should be fine for another 8 years … so, I have no idea why the lounge one is being a PIA. I guess I’ll be getting the step ladder and taking it down shortly.
Turns out I would like fish and chips tonight. Will we have fish and chips? No idea! 🙂 If I can be bothered walking to the fish and chip shop – it’s a possibility. Let’s just say it’s on the table.
What I really want is a straight run at this story but what I think I need to do is shut the file, create a new file, and write what I feel is missing in that. If I’m right then it will slot perfectly into what I have so far. If I’m wrong, then I haven’t tampered with the original file. No harm, no foul.
I’ll let you know how that goes. I think it’ll work. Fairly confident I can pull that off. I’ve done similar things before hence I have files titled things like ‘Scene 5’ and ‘perhaps this’ sitting in various folders attached to various stories. My favourite file name so far is ‘Are you fucking kidding’. Readers, I was not at all kidding.
Yesterday I spent a bit of time packaging stickers, pens, and bottle openers. Now they’re all in holographic bags and stored out of the way for next year’s launch. Talk about organised … kinda need to finish the book before that launch though. I’ve got quite a few things ready to go, just not the story. I guess I’m a planner when it comes to everything around writing just not the writing itself. 🙂
I can smell lavender. That’s pretty random. I grow lavender in the garden but I don’t recall ever smelling it in the house. It doesn’t usually waft through the windows. Around here you are more likely to smell pot wafting on the breeze. Oh, and I can.
Right that’s it then. I’m going to open a new file and write what I want to write and see if it does go where I think it will. That should get me back on track.
Also The Big Thrill and The Big Thrill: Yeah Noir … about me. 🙂 I’ve written a few books (24). For clarity I am not writing [Indigo Romeo Lima] it launched in April. I am writing the 7th book in the Veronica Tracey Spy/PI series [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra].
Thank you and goodnight. 🙂

I like the idea of writing a separate scene. That’s an interesting way to focus on it and make sure it’s right before fitting it in the story. I think randomness might be going around. Yesterday I got a random text. I opened my phone to see who texted me, and the text disappeared before I could read it. I still don’t know how that happened…
Talking about randomness … I rang a number that I don’t know on my iPad last night when I was FaceTiming with my Knight. It was an Australian number and the ‘call’ lasted ten minutes!!! WTF?
Disappearing texts … is odd! 🙂
Ooh, Twilight Zone stuff…
