What about me?

This week I’ve been reading [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] and getting it ready for editing and such. I’m reading it as an ePub on my iPad and using the note function to make comments about changes – missing words etc. It’s a lot nicer than doing the same thing using my Kindle. This will be the way I handle this part of the process from now on.
I’m over halfway. I should have it done by the weekend.

The final giveaway of 2025 ends on July 3rd.

I found myself thinking about a new story yesterday. I DO NOT want to be thinking about another story at the moment. I would like a break, thanks. Guess that’s up to my brain but it’s annoying. I’m tired. I can’t be fecked jumping back into writing a first-draft, yet. Also, it’d be super irritating to start something without a fully functional right hand. Give it a rest already! Brian Brain needs to get back in his box and I need to nail that lid down.
At the moment I can’t hold a pen properly so making hand written notes is not going to happen. So, therefore, this whole new story idea should just get in the sea. I am not ready.

Turns out, [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] is too long to have it as a single line of text on the spine! So it’ll be written like so: [Foxtrot Foxtrot
Sierra] or I don’t have my name on the spine … or I go back and have another look because it’s the same number of characters as [Whiskey Tango Foxtrot] and that fits!
Wonder why I can’t make [FFS] work. I think I do need to go back and look at it, maybe pull up the [WTF] cover and check the font size and placement. Maybe I need to turn around three times and then give the file a stern warning?

in other news: There really isn’t a lot.
It’s frosty as outside this morning. The lawn needs mowing. That’ll be a job for when the grass thaws.
My replacement copy of Databyte arrived from D2D. No damaged corner. Absolutely perfect. 🙂
The world is still a dumpster fire – and that includes NZ. We have the shittest government at the moment, running roughshod over everything that’s good for us and handing tax cuts to their rich mates. I really miss Jacinda. I think a lot of us do.

  1. I miss Jacinda, too, Cat! So very much! And I won’t even mention the dumpster fire going on here… Anyway, I know just what you mean about a story that won’t let you alone. I’ve had stories do that to me, too, and it can be grating when you’re trying to focus on another story. One at a time, please and thank you.

I am glad [FFS] is making so much progress. Nice to have that feeling, isn’t it? I know it’ll be fabulous.
