Yesterday was a good news day for our family. Superman has a bed in a care facility in Wellington. Such a relief to know he’ll be closer very soon. It’s not easy getting a bed at the highest level of care that there is (and that is what he needs). Serious brain injuries at 89 are not recommended.
It’s been a steep learning curve. And so awful for Superman who is perpetually confused about what’s going on because he cannot make new memories. Everything is new and not in a good way, for him. He still knows who everyone is, that he knew before July 7th, but nothing and no one since.

My Knight is back in Perth. I don’t much like that, if I’m honest. I wish he could’ve stayed longer. Our five weeks together went by in a blur of getting things done to sell the house in Moetapu and trying to get a bed for Superman and visiting him, and popping to CHCH to visit the family there.
We came home from Moetapu with one car then went back for the other. Both packed to the roof with things I didn’t want to leave behind. So grateful we could do that and that My Knight bought Superman’s car.
It was an insane five weeks and a lot of it is an actual blur.

In writing news: [Echo Mike Papa] is coming along. I did a lot of writing while we were getting things sorted – escapism. Haven’t done much since though. Still the book I wasn’t planning on writing yet is over 32K in words – and mostly they make sense. 🙂 🙂

I’ll knuckle down again soon.
