The decision was made …

Kia ora,

I’ve managed to find my mind a chew toy that has kept it occupied while [Indigo Delta Kilo] is resting.

1. Settled on the cover design. Got a lot of input and the winner design was bright red and purple.

2. Wrote a little book called ‘Grams and the office cats.’ And shipped it direct to the intended recipients.

3. Wrote a little thing called ‘Chewy Tui’ and did the same.

4. I’ve done a lot of vacuuming.

5. Ran a campaign for ‘Written in Leaves’ for fun and to see what would happen. It went from nothing to #14 and now it’s #6 – in Australian and Oceanian Lit. And in the top 20 in another category and top 50 in yet another one. So that’s been fun.
That is not the book I thought would be a best seller!! But it is. So, there you go.

6. I’ve ordered the first proof of [Indigo Delta Kilo] because a very dear friend reads for me. She is the physical proofreader and reads every work – unlike a lot of us. It should be here tomorrow. It will have the grey cover.

7. I’ve turned my office into a spare bedroom for when it’s needed. I’m currently sleeping in it because we have a lodger from the UK with us. FYI, my office is a great place for me to sleep. I’m loving it.

8. AND … [Bravo Romeo Bravo] is a chapter or two along. I don’t know yet what it is. Could be a short story, could be a novella, could be Veronica Tracey Spy/PI book 10. I guess we’ll find out eventually.

9. I haven’t been twiddling my thumbs like I think I have been. I’ve discovered I do that a lot. I convince myself I’m doing fuck all then I sit down and think about it properly and wouldn’t ya know it, I’m not wasting time at all.

I’m a hundred percent sure I’ve forgotten half of the things I’ve done in the last two weeks.
And I minimise things. Like writing a couple of kids books with pictures on every page and proper covers and all that jazz. My brain tells me I wrote a couple of small stories but it forgets to add the cover, images, etc.

The other day someone pointed out all the things I do to bring a novel into the world. Then they pointed out that I do it alone. Nothing is palmed off. I learnt how to do the whole thing from the first word to the launch. And it sounded quite impressive when they broke it all down.
So I shrugged and said, “I wrote a book.”
They replied, “You’ve written 27 and done everything else. All of it.”
It doesn’t seem like a big thing to me. Most of the writers I know, do what I do!
There will be a post about that in the next week or so.

Anywho, I’m busy as usual.
