Vaporbyte launched last Thursday/Friday depending on your place in the world.
Vaporbyte Red and Vaporbyte Purple
If you’ve been following along you know that there are two endings, therefore two versions.
Doesn’t matter which one you read and you don’t have to read both.

So, launching via Facebook Live … was okay. It wasn’t great. It wasn’t anything like launching a book in person, and there are no sales to speak of, which is vastly different to being in front of people with books.
For what was the last launch of a book from this series, and the last real launch I’m planning to do … it was disappointing but also fun in some ways. Was great that friends from overseas could join. My son and his wife checked in from London.

And, with that, Vaporbyte launched. Still feels a bit weird. Actually a lot weird. I don’t feel like I just completed the series. Something is missing. That’s real live people. 🙂

Anyway, it’s done and cannot be undone. The series is complete. Be nice if more than 6 people read Vaporbyte. But, seeings I have 5 fans, I’m ahead of the curve. (I’m not actually joking.)

Paperbacks should arrive at the bookshop sometime, I don’t know when, and to be honest I don’t really care anymore. They cost me a lot and I know that launching the way we did, I won’t recoup that cost. The perils of being an author.

What’s next?

I need to finish a short story and then I’m back to work on my kiwi novel. Mostly I need to finish this short so that I can let Ellie go cleanly and not have to scrabble around the rubble in my mind trying to encourage her to help me write this one last thing.
This last short was called “Someday I’ll be Saturday Night” but I think it’s grown out of that title now I’m 3 chapters in. (Yes, sometimes my shorts have chapters because they’re more like a novella than a short.)

The title is from Lorenza Ponce “Soul Shifter”
Lorenza is a friend and one helluva rock violinist, bee keeper, and singer.
