Aimless walking:

I don’t do well without an objective. Today I should be going for a walk (it’s good for my brain) but I can’t decide where to go. The park isn’t far enough and I have no desire to get wet feet from the grass.
I don’t do aimless walking well. I need a destination and a reason. So, I’m currently stuck because where would I go?
Also, the washing had to be re-washed so that’s another 49 minutes to wait. (Someone left something in a pocket or accidentally put it the washing basket not the bin, don’t know and don’t care. But the result was my jeans and hoodies covered in white bits.)

Really I should be doing something I shouldn’t do at all, because it won’t get done if I don’t. And potentially it could count as a walk … I would be walking while pushing the lawnmower so maybe. 🙂
Not sure if my wrist can handle that though. It’s been bad for days. Had to go back on Celebrex a couple of days ago to try and settle it. That’s done something. It didn’t ache all night last night so maybe it will come right again.

Back to the surgeon at the end of June and maybe he’ll have some suggestions.
I would like to be writing. But, it’s not happening. Just doing this is hard enough. I find that I think all the words but miss quite a few when I’m typing. Little bit of a disconnect somewhere. And it’s frustrating.
Could be worse though.

There is an event on my Facebook Page for the [Whiskey Tango Foxtrot] launch. It’s a physical launch at Upper Hutt Library. We will probably live stream it via either FB or Instagram, as well.

Good news is that Amazon have “fixed” the issue and I can order [WTF]. I don ‘t know if this is permanent though. Won’t find that out until I finish [FML] and try to order copies. It’ll be well into next years before that happens.

If you’re in the Wellington Region or will be on August 4th – put this in your calendar. It’ll fun and there will be nibbles, cake (don’t what flavours yet), books, and merch. And as usual, a prize for a few lucky people!

  1. I’m like you, Cat. I much prefer to have a goal or a destination than just be aimless. I have more motivation that way. That’s one of the many things I love about being owned by a dog. He needs regular walks, so I have a purpose in walking, if that makes sense. I hope your wrist heals up soon. It’s been going on long enough! Oh, and good news about Amazon! Speaking of going on for too long…

    • Dogs are a great purpose. I can’t walk Diesel (the wrist again) but I did go on a walk and met up with him and Freda, so that was fun.
I’m excited to see [WTF] now that it’s all done!!

  2. I enjoy catching the train into the big smoke, having no idea where I’m going and end up trying bubble tea and a pork bun. Just me. If you’re looking for the title of a book after FML, I am thinking of HSB. Holy Shit Batman 🙂 Enjoy your week Cat!
