We had a blue moon. A super blue moon. Seems like every month there is a new wonderful named super moon. Pretty sure no one cared if the moon had names until recently. That’s fine. Us witches are aware of the different moons and always have been. The moon is important. And a super moon, wow, that brings the loons out. What you don’t want is a windy night and a super moon. You see some shit then.
Anywho, enough moon talk. It’s September. Welcome to spring. Allergy season started some time ago here with pine pollen running in yellow rivers when it rains.
I wonder which one of my characters gets hay fever? Maybe it’s Crockett. It’s a miserable thing. I wish it on no one. But this is New Zealand and a lot of people have pollen allergies especially in this particular valley. It’s bad for asthma and hay fever.
Moving on: I’m deep into writing [Foxtrot Mike Lima] and very much enjoying the different POV’s. Because this time we hear from Ben and someone else as well as Crockett and Ronnie. That’s a lot of people in my head. So far so good though. I know on my second pass I’ll be beefing Crockett up and Ben will need tweaking and the other guy, well, it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything from his POV. I need to fiddle with him a bit but that’s later. First I need to get this story to the END. What I’m knee deep in is, creating the story not making it pretty. It just needs to be on the page. That’s not to say it’s a disaster and poorly written, it’s not, I’ve been doing this a very long time. What it is, is not for anyone else eyes. Not more than a short raw squizz at the occasional scene anyway. This story is no one’s business until it’s complete, and even then, it’ll be two or three or four more passes while I add things that I glossed over so I could get to the end. Then, a couple of trusted people will read it. And more passes will ensue. Eventually it will fly to my editor. 🙂
That’s the process for me.
I do sort of talk about it with My Knight. Not really though. He couldn’t tell you what it’s about.
I’ve discovered I am switching devices while writing! I’m still mostly using my MacBook, as usual. But I’ve found myself handing off to the iPad and continuing there. That seems to mean less handwritten notes. (My wrist thanks me for that!) Most often though I write standing using the MacBook with iPad close so I can look things up quickly.
Off to writing land for me!
Have a good one.

I’m so happy you’re making some progress with [Foxtrot Mike Lima], Cat! There’s so much energy once the juices get flowing, isn’t there? I know when that happens to me, I can see the whole story, and it just gives me momentum. And yeah, that moon was incredible!
