Whatcha doing now?

Found myself asking a character that ^^ question this morning. Ben was behaving less like Ben I thought but then I realised I’d never let him take over before, he was always seen through Ronnie or Crockett’s eyes. Maybe Ben was just being Ben. 🙂
If so, it’s a markedly different side of him and definitely one that Ronnie hasn’t seen before. That makes things interesting. Not sure she’d like this side of Ben but then, she may not see it for a long time.
No sense worrying about it.
Ben proved he’s capable of surprising us all in this story and that makes writing even more fun.

This morning I just wanted to read and check what I wrote yesterday because I don’t have time to lose myself in the story. I failed. I managed to accidentally write another thousand words. The story is moving a lot quicker with my Post-it note wall. I don’t know why notebooks weren’t cutting it with this story but it might have something to do with the slight addition to the cast and two new POV’s. Clearly, I needed an array of Post-it notes and the ability to add things at will.
We all know it’s not my will but my characters. 🙂

On that note … I’m off.
Have a wonderful day.

The image below: A series of redacted notes, stuck on my wall. Yeah, I’m serious when I say I don’t share what I’m working on or what is happening in the story until I have a complete first draft.

  1. I’m so glad the story is moving as well as it is, Cat! And I think it’s cool that Ben is letting you know more about him, whether Ronnie’s happy with it or not. Makes him more fleshed out and real.
