Yep, [Foxtrot Mike Lima] is closing in on the finish line. Looks like a finished first draft is going to be this week not the end of October at all. Definitely coming in well before my original thoughts of late November. Joyful!
I am very much enjoying writing this book.
I have said that for every book I’ve written, by the way. And there’s a few of them. Not just novels either but short story collections and novellas and poetry. It’s not always easy but I do always enjoy it. This book took a while to take off because there were limits on how much I could do/write at once and that is not an easy way to write a novel. Because it’s in my head as scenes, I like to write until I can’t see the next scene. Probably doesn’t make sense to most of you but I know some of you write like I do. I follow the characters, I see what they see, write what I see. When I can’t see anymore it’s time for a break. 🙂
Anywho, knowing the hard work phase is almost done is a good feeling.
I promised myself tequila if I can finish this draft by tomorrow afternoon.
Apparently that’s the kind of bribe that works. 🙂
Chocolate? No, thank you.
Tequila? Yes, please.
This week there is a FB ad running (actually 2) so far, crap. Not getting anywhere. It’s day 5. And no sales. So, now I know, it was an experiment and now I know not to waste money on FB ads.
Pretty annoying. FB were all “change the image” on day 3 … so I did. And it made no difference.
Probably got a cold-call out of it from a cover designer and that’s it. And he might’ve come across my website off his own volition.
Right that’s it for me. Last month’s sales were dismal and this month’s could well be the same ad or no ad. Sometimes I wonder why I bother … but there are stories to tell and I love it. (I also like food and clothes and tequila but I can’t have everything.)
Gosh they’re a depressing final two paragraphs.
Go buy a book … turn things around. 🙂 🙂

That’s just it, Cat. There are stories to tell, and I, for one, don’t get any peace until I tell them. I’m so excited you’re closing in on the end of this one. I’ll bet it’ll be fabulous!
A couple more chapters and it’ll be over the finish line!
