Always been a bit of a special day. Good day to do all sorts of things. Especially if you’re a bit Wiccan.
Anywho, that’s not how I spent my day.
I spent it elbow deep in [Foxtrot Mike Lima] and I very much enjoyed it. Turns out my first draft isn’t a shitty abomination at all. The things I thought I’d skipped over … I hadn’t. Imagine? Good on you brain for hauling this together! I’m quite impressed with its ability. It didn’t have the best year so, impressive work. No doubt the wall of Post-Its helped until I got sick of moving them around and binned them before the final five chapters! 🙂

I’ll spend tomorrow doing the same. I’m not sure how far through I am. I just had a look. I’m in the midst of Chapter 39 and that means there are 10 left to read. Marvellous. It won’t take me that long tomorrow.

Today, I was told that the courier who should’ve delivered a parcel to me earlier in the week, was going to get around to it today. It was bollocks. It’s apparently still in the courier van because they couldn’t manage to do their job all week and certainly not today before they knocked off at 5PM. Could’ve dropped in and given it to me at any stage while I WAITED. But no. Didn’t happen despite the assurances of the couriers head office and the sender who also would like me to get the parcel, because they’ll be refunding my money if I don’t get it on Monday. Enough is enough. There is NOTHING holding anything up down here. Except … you guessed it … Surprise! It’s someone not doing their fucking job. This time it is Castle Parcels. Normally they’re good. They managed to deliver to Mahau Sound no problem … but they can’t deliver to a suburb in Upper Hutt?
Guess that ended our good run with courier companies this year (after the diabolical nonsense of last year and the year before).

I’ll just be here waiting.

I’ve become hooked on Rizzoli & Isles. Currently binge watching season 3 (I think). I like a show that has characters I can relate to, Rizzoli makes me laugh. It’s very familiar. She does sarcasm so well she could be a Kiwi.
Most enjoyable.

A fresh block of ten ISBN’s arrived today. So I’m all ready for [FML] later on. It’s a wee way off yet. There’s reading, there’s editing, there’s first-eyes, there’s more editing, there’s more reading, there’s my glorious editor, and you guessed it … more reading, and more editing.
I’ve written a few things that come much later, like the front matter (just waiting for the ISBN’s to be added), the back matter, and have been playing with blurbs.
