Home.

Hi ya!
You probably know we were away down south. Now we’re home. Diesel is most pleased. The cats have barely acknowledged us. 🙂

A question for you … 1 or 2? I’ve been playing with blurbs for [Foxtrot Mike Lima] so far 2 is coming out on top but my editor likes 1. 🙂 No doubt I’ll be messing with blurbs for a bit longer yet. Pretty sure I was messing with loglines a while ago but no idea where I put them! (Do better Brian Brain.)

1. When Veronica Tracey’s partner, Ben Reynolds, goes missing during a covert CIA and Genesis operation, she confides in Dave Crocker. Together, they leverage Ronnie’s unique skills to locate and retrieve Reynolds, but even with her expertise, the task proves challenging. Simultaneously, a newspaper story highlighting Nana’s mystery-solving prowess attracts unwelcome attention, adding another layer of trouble for Ronnie. The last thing she needs is a celebrity Nana. As Nana gains fame and an illegal covert deal unfolds in New Zealand—with Reynolds involved—life takes a world-shattering turn, adding intense intrigue to the unfolding events.

2.  When Veronica Tracey’s partner, Ben Reynolds, goes missing during a CIA and Genesis mission, she confides in Dave Crocker (Crockett). Together, they leverage Ronnie’s unique skills to locate Reynolds, but even with her expertise, the task proves challenging.
Simultaneously, a newspaper story featuring Nana’s mystery-solving prowess attracts unwanted attention, causing headaches for Ronnie. The last thing she needs is a famous Nana complicating matters.
As Nana’s fame rises and an illegal covert deal unfolds on New Zealand’s shores—with Reynolds entangled—life takes an intriguing and world-shattering turn.

I was also toying with these sentences as a lead into the blurbs but I’m not sure yet and they could stand some tweaking:
“Ronnie Tracey’s week kicks off with the unexpected.
Mitch Iverson’s week begins with a warning.
Ben Reynolds’ week starts with a dangerous new job.
Crockett’s week slides in with unwelcome news: Ben is missing.”

FYI: It’s really nice listening to Magic Radio again! Didn’t realise how much I missed it while we were away. 🙂

  1. Your editor is the expert, of course, but I like Two better. And those lead sentences are intriguing! I’m glad you had a lovely time, and that you’re back safely. I’d say you have a while to go, some groveling to do, and many treats to offer before the cats acknowledge you again… 😉
