I’ve always loved Ray Charles and especially Hit the Road Jack. You better believe I badly sing along with the backup singers. Who doesn’t?

Anywho, I spent all yesterday reading. I barely moved from my spot on the couch until almost 4PM when I had finished the final proofread and making any stupid little changes that were needed. My plan was to finish the proofread of [Foxtrot Mike Lima] this weekend. So, hooray! It’s done.
I did find one sentence that had me going, “No he fucking didn’t!” No idea how that sentence ended up where I found it (blaming my fingers for doing stupid shit), it’s fixed. It was one small sentence that if left alone would make something that happens two pages later absolutely nonsense. Don’t ya hate that? Apart from that stupid sentence the other thing that annoyed me was the word ‘identify’ it was supposed to be ‘identity’. Sorted. Clearly a typo.
Then it was a case of making sure The Wayward Son Protocol appeared exactly like I just wrote it, and the same for the Cronies of Doom.
It does feel like a weight has been lifted now that the final read is done.
Sadly, it wasn’t completed before sending an ePub to The Big Thrill because they asked to review it or write a recommendation for it (same same). It’ll be in the June issue. Fingers crossed everyone loves it.

By the time I’d finished reading I was over it, to be honest. But I have spent an awful lot of time with the story and there are many POV’s, so I had to make sure that not everyone knew everything. If at some point Crockett, Ronnie, and Ben sat down together and really talked then they would put all the pieces together, regarding Genesis. We can’t have them doing that. 🙂 🙂 Not yet. Ah, the joy, of characters who hold information back or outright lie about how much they know.

On that note, I need to get on with the day. Turns out the stupid market supplied me with coffee beans instead of the plunger grind I ordered. Beans are useless, I don’t have a grinder. The most annoying thing is – I stock up on my favourite coffee when it’s on sale. It’s not on sale now. FFS.
