This morning is a clear blue sky autumn day. The kind I love. Crisp and beautiful. I’m sitting having a coffee with a Birman in my lap. She’s making typing difficult and she doesn’t care. There are worse problems to have.
Last night was spent with friends. Laughing. Drinking a little bit. Eating delicious corned beef.
Yesterday I managed to get a start on a chapter in [FFS] that I kinda knew I needed (weeks ago) but for whatever reason didn’t write. Anywho, I made a fairly good start on it yesterday. I also had to remember which FBI-Byte book had the Iverson brothers in it and what Chris’s wife was called. I could not remember, and not for the first time I realised that I should’ve consolidated my notes from ALL the books into something I could actually reference when needed. I have not. I do have ALL the notebooks – but bloody hell that’s a lot of notebooks so they sit in a huge plastic tub (with a lid) and will probably never see the light of day again.
I do, however, keep all the eBooks and all the final files on my MacBook so I can search them when needed. I needed to do that yesterday.
It was Metabyte (book 9, it launched in 2017). Mitch Iverson’s sister-in-law is Susan. The next thing I needed to know was about Mitch’s twins. How old would they be now?
Luckily I was at Robbies because she’s like a walking encyclopaedia of my latest series. So handy! They would be coming up on 9 now.
(9 year old twin girls. God help Mitch.)
Armed with those tidbits of knowledge I got back to writing a Mitch chapter. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Mitch. Quite fun to write him again.
Anywho, this was going to be a post about the contest I’m running!!
If you love getting very cool free stuff (merch, books) then click this link and come play. It’s the easiest contest ever.

Yeah, it’s always good to have a series bible or something to keep track of all of the characters and what happens to them. Readers remember things like that, and it is off-putting when the author doesn’t get things right, especially about series regulars. I’m interested in what’s going on with Mitch and the twins…
Funnily enough I have a series bible for the VT Series – with word choices and whatnot, and very brief descriptions. But I never had one for the FBI-Byte Series and the only time I needed one for that series was over Lee’s eye colour! Maybe my brain was better at storing all the facts and characters back then. 🙂
And here’s the question … do you have series bibles for your series?
I do have notes (wouldn’t call them bibles), and I have the texts of my novels, so I can usually find what I need. And, of course, I don’t have nearly as many books written as you do!
