[Indigo Delta Kilo]

Last year I wrote two novels. [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] and [Echo Mike Papa]. Really, I could’ve taken this year off and launched [Echo Mike Papa] next year.
Am I?
Hell no.
I started a joint project earlier this year then got myself stuck with some rather tricky bomb details for a very large bomb. It’s the kind of bomb that is a character not a thing. While I was giving that situation a lot of thought, a scene popped up.
An entire scene.
It wasn’t shagging about. It was a Ronnie and Steph scene.
It was funny and full of character. Nec minute, I’m writing [Indigo Delta Kilo]. The title was right there on the first page and it stuck firm.
I love it.
It works.

The Veronica Tracey Spy/PI series has proven fairly easy when it comes to titles. My FBI-Byte Series took a lot more thought. They rarely showed themselves early and often took a lot of fiddling with. I got there but it was harder.

Anywho, I am away on holiday. I’m in Perth (WA not Scotland). Traditionally, I write a lot in Perth. So we’ll see how this story progresses.
I know I should get back into the other project, maybe skip the detailed part and move on with the rest of the story. It might happen. Who knows? I don’t like dropping projects. And since writing Killerbyte, I have finished everything I’ve started so …
I’m sure Pete would like it to happen and I will get in there at some stage.

I’ve mentioned the story twice in this post, guess that means it’s back wiggling away in my brain. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, there’s a file open and a fresh chapter to dive into. I’m going in. I cannot be stopped when a story is insistent. And I am really curious as to where this one ends up. I’ve already learnt something about Ronnie that I did not know. She’s got a side to her that we haven’t really seen, in the previous stories. That fascinates me.
Writing book 9 and still learning about my characters is a fabulous thing.

As far as characters go, I spent the entire FBI-Byte series learning about Ellie (and the team), so it pleases me that the Veronica Tracey Spy/PI series is turning out to be a learning experience.
I’d hate to have all the answers, all at once.
