And the reading has begun …

Yep, I’m reading [Foxtrot Mike Lima] for the first time as an entire story. So far so good. 🙂
It’s always interesting what I have in my head that could be issues compared to what is written. I was pretty sure that I’d skimped on some details/description and whatnot. So far, I have not.
That’s making the reading process a lot easier!
Not too many notes so far.
I think there will be more as I get deeper into the story, especially around Mitch, Ben, and Crockett. I haven’t written Mitch for years so that’s been a challenge and he’s older now, he’s been sole parent to his twins for five years. I was concerned that I wouldn’t have a clear image of him anymore but it came back. It’s interesting seeing him settled into his new life.
The fun character for me is Ben. I’ve not written from his perspective before. I found out a few things about him while writing from his POV. He’s different than I thought he’d be. Always nice when a character surprises me. Good or bad, doesn’t matter.
Crockett is quite familiar now but I always worry that he’s not Crockett enough. 🙂 Reading will tell me, so far so good.

So that’s what I’m doing this week and probably next week, in-between appointments for my wrist. At least I can take my Kindle and read while I wait. 🙂 I also have a bit of wrist homework, not just exercises either.

What does your week look like?

Diesel thinks everyone should go buy my books: 🙂

  1. Diesel is right. I know what you mean about read-throughs. They always show you the shape of a story in ways you don’t see when you’re actually writing the story. And I love the idea of getting to know a character better as you write that character. I’m looking forward to finding out more about what Ben is like. And saying ‘Hello’ to Mitch again.
