Not to brag or anything, but I think I achieved 'expert' level in procrastination this weekend. I know! I'm ready to accept my trophy. Have my speech ready and everything. But what I didn't do this weekend was piss anyone off by referring to the 'safety' on a Glock. Yeah, I'd never do that. But someone … Continue reading Procrastination level: expert

Somebody pour me a drink
It's been a year. I am aware it's not even mid-July but it's been a year. It's a year since Superman's slowly fatal head injury. Six months was fucking insanity. At times, hilarious, but mostly awful. Then the next six months of getting stuff sold, bought, organised. It's also been a year since the home … Continue reading Somebody pour me a drink
Something is coming …
Something is coming out of Upper Hutt. Not loud. Not flashy. Not announced with confetti and balloons. Something quieter than that. And far more dangerous. Politics kills. Secrets kill faster. And in this town, both have a habit of getting personal. I didn’t set out to write a political thriller. I set out to tell … Continue reading Something is coming …
Light reading
This week's light reading comprised of a security report, to be fair, that's not unusual. What fascinated me this week was how close I am to the truth when I'm writing the Veronica Tracey Series. Such fun! Let's just say that my bad actors are indeed a threat to our security. I knew that already, … Continue reading Light reading
10 things about last week.
Will there be ten? Let's find out, shall we?1. I can't remember Monday. 2. The drain layer (Jeremy) started digging the trenches. We could still use the shower and loo. Hooray! $$$$$3. More digging. Some drains were replaced out the front on the street. Everything was hooked up so we could use the loo overnight. … Continue reading 10 things about last week.
Long walk off a short plank:
Quite pleased with the direction of [Indigo Delta Kilo] at this point. I can see the next few scenes (as video in my brain as usual) so that's good. The title of this post came about because Crockett said it and I haven't heard that phrase for a long time. Probably the last time I … Continue reading Long walk off a short plank:
Meet Your New Favourite Team.
Saving the world is hard. It’s slightly easier when you have a team who: ✔ knows what they’re doing ✔ has your back ✔ and can still crack a joke in the middle of chaos This is a fast-paced spy/PI series packed with action, sharp dialogue, and characters you’ll wish were real. You can start … Continue reading Meet Your New Favourite Team.
[Indigo Delta Kilo]
Last year I wrote two novels. [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] and [Echo Mike Papa]. Really, I could've taken this year off and launched [Echo Mike Papa] next year. Am I? Hell no.I started a joint project earlier this year then got myself stuck with some rather tricky bomb details for a very large bomb. It's the … Continue reading [Indigo Delta Kilo]
[FFS] launch day!
What a very busy time the last four months have been but we made. We landed here on [Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra] launch day! Today came with a big plumbing bill, so that was fun. If you've wanted to start reading my work - now's good. I could do with the sales because today's was the … Continue reading [FFS] launch day!
Authorial Doom Spiral
AKA: what happens pre-launch. Twice in the life of a single book, there are times when the brain goes completely feral: the instant you finish a novel … I call it *writers’ trench coat syndrome* when your brain doesn’t know what to do with itself and you are pretty sure nothing makes sense. It’s not … Continue reading Authorial Doom Spiral
