Am I teaching this month?

Only time will tell. I very much hope I am because I LOVE LOVE teaching crime writing. It’s right up there as one of my favourite things.
And that reminds me I want to go through my text book (because I made myself one so I didn’t have to carry bundles of notes), and tweak some of the lessons a bit.
I should do that this weekend.
I want to add a few things. Not telling you what, if you sign up for my classes you will find out soon enough. 🙂 🙂
Crime Writing

In other news, I’m reading that book that people have told me is a little similar (or a couple of characters are and some wording) to my work. So far, it could not be more different. I don’t write books that feel like they were taken from a screenplay and gussied up.
FYI: My work is novel first, always.

I shall keep reading until I find out what people have been talking about in relation to Argylle and my Ellie Conway FBI-Byte Series. At the moment – nothing is familiar. Also, nothing is memorable and that’s not a good sign when I’m reading.
So there ya go. I’ll keep you informed.

What else am I reading? I am reading my very good friend Margot’s new work. Now, that stays with me! That’s how characters and story should land. FYI: I cannot work out who did it!
I very much like the main character. Joel Williams is solid character and I like that. I didn’t much care for one of the other characters, there was something a bit off about her, but she died so I guess I got that right! 🙂 🙂
I can’t wait to get back into it.
I’m also learning a lot reading ‘Scene of the Crime’. I love when I learn things about another country like how particular High Schools impact kids futures and what University education looks like if kids are relying on grants and they get cut.

Meanwhile, I’ll be thinking about tweaking my text book and finding a launch date for [Foxtrot Mike Lima].

[Veronica Tracey Spy/PI] volume 2 is free on KU for a limited time.
Get in there folks!

  1. I hope you get to teach that course, too! You’re the perfect person to teach it, and I’ll bet your zest for the genre shows. And thanks for the very, very kind words about Scene of the Crime. I’ve always liked Joel Williams, too and I’m glad that shows. 😀

I know what you mean about getting on with other projects, too. Patricia Stanley just asked to talk to me. I think she has another story to tell me…

    • Oh, Patricia Stanley wants to talk! Now that’s fabulous news. Can’t wait to hear more about that!
I’m very much enjoying Scene of the Crime and I still don’t know who is killing them off! Have my suspicions now though, but, I was wrong last time!! 🙂
