It’s a fabulous weekend, bit of a long weekend in actual fact. My best friend arrived on Thursday and we’ve had a marvellous time.
Friday was the official launch of [Whiskey Tango Foxtrot], very much hoping our magnificent library staff got some good photos because I mostly forgot. Completely forgot to get a photo of everyone seated! I do have one of the empty chairs before the launch. Not super helpful. 🙂
The Mayor spoke and then introduced me. He’d researched an aspect of the book so that was great fun. Hard not to be fascinated by H-SAM (Hyperthymesia).
The library used ‘Crumb and Morsel’ for the catering. Many lovely comments about the delicious food.
I did bake two cakes. One carrot with lemon icing in the book colours(ish). One chocolate. I changed my chocolate cake recipe and by crikey it’s top notch. I’ll be replacing the oil with apple sauce in that recipe from now on. Best chocolate cake ever. It was pretty good with the oil but now it’s next level delicious.
So that was Friday! Once we were home it was out with the tequila and celebrations continued.
I gave the carrot cake to my eldest grandson and his girlfriend to take home. No doubt they’ll enjoy that.

Saturday I taught at Wellington High School. Did find I struggled with a few words which isn’t surprising at all. The class all have copies of “Don’t kill the chicken” so I won’t need to provide as many notes. Hooray.

Launch weekend was wonderful! 🙂

I’ve been swanning about in a grey (faux) fur coat all weekend! Very spoilt. Also goes well with the book. There is a very expensive fur coat (not faux, nor grey) in [Whiskey Tango Foxtrot].
And now my beautiful sparkly dragonfly brooch has a permanent home on the lapel of my glorious fur coat.
