Everything is hairy

All the animals are shedding like it’s their job.
The joy of spring time, I guess.
Today was a planting day. Six tomato plants and two giant pumpkins. The pumpkins are named Peter and Petra. I may or may not name the tomatoes.
We also planted mint. (When I say ‘we’ it was Geoff. I am purely decorative at the moment.)
I’m 35 chapters through this read of [Foxtrot Mike Lima] closing in on the end (49 chapters in total). Handy really, it’s heading to my editor on the 4th. And she’s waiting! 🙂
So far, [FML] is 102,700 words. That makes it the longest of the Veronica Tracey Spy/PI novels so far.

Diesel has extra rules at the moment. He was getting a bit ahead of himself. So it’s back in the box for him. Doesn’t usually take long for him to get back in line. He’s smart. Smart enough that after being told twice he wasn’t allowed on the couch and being put on his bed that he’s chosen to lie on the floor after his dinner without even trying to get on the couch. Rules are for a reason. He knows that.

Once [FML] is with my editor I’ll probably put more thought and potentially words into ‘Scattered on Cloth’ – Poppy’s story.
We’ll see. I intend to try and dictate the bulk of it. Wish me luck.
I wonder how many characters will die? Could be a few depending how it goes and how I go using dictation instead of typing or writing long hand. Be shame if it turned into a bloodbath when the novella is supposed to be a “romance”.

That’s it for the beginning of November. 🙂

  1. There’s definitely something about spring planting, Cat. And Peter and Petra are great names for those pumpkins! As for Diesel, that reminds me of when we sometimes would have to put our dogs back into training when they stepped out of line. Sometimes they need reminders. Good look finishing up with [Foxtrot Mike Lima] – I look forward to reading the final version. And Poppy’s story intrigues me….
