First We Take Manhattan

Big thanks to Leonard Cohen for today’s blog title. Yes, I will link you to the song at the end of this post.
Leonard Cohen has a special place in my heart.

Anywho, that’s not the purpose of this post.
This morning I created the Event page on Facebook for [Foxtrot Mike Lima]. That means I’m now running out of time to make sure I have everything sorted, ready to print, and whatnot.
While I was inviting people I found myself muttering, “Not you, you’re dead.”
NINE times! NINE. Only one was over two years ago.
To you all I say … Stop dying! Just stop it.

Next week I will create the final files and get them loaded because there is a pre-order up and I will be getting the “make sure you’ve uploaded the final files” emails soon enough.
It’s time to think about that one thing I can add to the prizes that is specifically [Foxtrot Mike Lima].
So far I have: Posters (Ben’s Rules and Crockett’s Rules, plus posters with taglines), Pens – who doesn’t love getting my fantastic pens?, Soap – two scents because I got two batches made – as most of you know I have my own branded soap made for me by Soundsoap in Keneperu, Bookmarks – they’re gorgeous, of course. I’m out of my notebooks and wrist bands so I’ll have to put my thinking cap on and come up with something fun.

Things are moving along on the writing front.
I started properly working on [Indigo Romeo Lima] on April 2nd. And it’s coming along nicely. So far it’s Ronnie telling this story but I expect Crockett to muscle his way in and perhaps Ben will have something to add. We’ll see. One can never tell who will want to add to the story. Half expecting Ginny to pop up waving a heavily bracelet encircled arm and demand her time in the spotlight.
It’s half the fun for me, the not knowing. 🙂

Today is probably going to be a short writing day due to nonsense from McWristy and Brian Brain but that happens so we work around them as best we can. Today might be less work-around and more do something else, but we will see.
Pacing is a fantastic concept but fucking hard to implement. Re-training my left-hand to take more of the burden is slow.

Doris and I took down a bunch of stuff from the mantlepiece yesterday. it’s now sitting in a box but I’m not quite sure what to do with it all. Perhaps it’ll get popped in the Harry Potter cupboard until I can come up with something. Makes it a lot easier to dust with everything away.

We also put all Freda’s stuff from the lounge into a bigger box – that pissed the cats off because it was their box. Oops. Oh well, they’ll get over it.

That’s pretty much it from me. Now I’m going to go hunt down a sentence that pissed me off no-end last night. Hunt it down and kill it. (I need to kill something and it’s probably best if it’s a sentence rather than a character!)

You will find two Leonard Cohen songs below because ‘Dance Me to the End of Love’ is another of my favourites.

  1. Really glad you’re making progress on [IRL]! I’m sure Ben and Crockett will have their say as the story goes on. I’m excited for your upcoming launch, too! I hope it all goes well, and that you have terazillions of sales. As for the cats? They rule the house, so why the hell are taking their BOXES away? ;-) I’m sure the next time you get a parcel, they’ll be happy to move to a new box…
