Thank you for loving me.

Yes, I know I usually add the video at the end, but this song I particularly like and it says most of what I want to say, to the people in my life who show up when I need them.
It’s New Years Eve.
I have to say this year was hugely better than 2020. A lot happened and it was a good year. Yes, we’re still screwed globally by the latest variant of COVID – omicron is flooding across the world, causing chaos and misery.
But here, in New Zealand, we’re okay, for now. And my year was not a bad one despite lockdowns, Superman being choppered to hospital and a super shitty arsehole trying to screw with the family. Discounting that stress – which we dealt with head-on and rose above, personally, it was a good year.
I got to go to Christchurch twice.
I flew for the first time in over a year. I’d really missed flying!
Reconnected with a friend from when we were young and discovered we just picked where we left off. Probably means neither of us have grown up that much? πŸ™‚
Reconnected with my brother’s best friend, Michael. He’s all over the world with his job.
Got to Mahau Sound twice with My Knight.
Chrissy came up twice.
Superman came up twice.
My Knight made it home for a whole month!
I signed with Crazy Maple Studios and that’s turned out to be a very good decision.
We managed to hold an event and properly launch the final Byte novel at the central library.
[Lure the lie] launched at the bookshop with my writing group and My Knight.
Two babies were born into our family this year. One in Sydney and one here.
Superman recovered fully from his fall and enjoyed the helicopter trip. πŸ™‚
I’ve spent a lot of time with my family.
Book sales (Byte Series and the Kiwi series) through the shop are steady!!
I’m closing in on the end of [Leave a message] πŸ™‚
I was able to TEACH in person, the crime writing course I developed.
Teaching in terms 1 and 4 was simply joyful and getting paid for it – wonderful!
Next year there will be a proper text that goes with the course. It’s in my head, it’ll appear at some stage.
We had the chance to celebrate Superman’s 86th birthday and Doris’s 16th birthday and do a massive pre-Christmas dinner in early December. All the girls together. Marvellous.
See?
It wasn’t such a bad year. Next year, 2022 – I see good things on the horizon. So said the cards when I asked last night. Nana’s wedding rings said the same. πŸ˜‰
FYI the Smashwords sale ends on Jan 1st.
So pop through the link and fill your boots. Boxed set, anyone?
If New Zealand set books are your idea of a good time ... here’s that link!
